About Me
Ajna decided to become a therapist because she felt that it would be a powerful way to help people shape their lives. She brings compassion, deep listening and humor to her work and she honors the trust it takes to share your deepest thoughts and feelings with another human being. No simple task, to be sure!
Ajna received her MSW from the Smith College School for Social Work, and trained at the University of Virginia's Counseling and Psychological Services. Her undergraduate years were spent at Stanford University, where she studied medical and ethical issues impacting women's health. After completing her graduate degree in social work, Ajna was awarded the LEAH fellowship through the Adolescent Medicine Clinic, Children's Hospital Boston, and continued her post graduate study in the area of adolescent and young adult development. Most recently she served as the Director of Laurel Hill Inn's Day Treatment Program for women with eating disorders.
Ajna works with adolescents, adults, couples and families. She also provides clinical supervision, case consultation and group therapy through her private practice. She has had research published on the topic of clinical supervision and practices as a culturally sensitive clinician. Her special areas of interest are mindfulness, mind-body connectedness, and integrated health practices. Ajna is a professional member of Multi-service Eating Disorder Association (MEDA) and has recently been elected to serve on the Nominating Committee for the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). Her private office is located in Arlington, MA.
